Janel Balbo
Violin

She began Suzuki violin studies at age five. She is experienced in preschool education and development. She received her Suzuki training at SANO International Music Festival & Suzuki Music Camp with Ray Landers and Helen Brunner. She is a member of SAA.*

Martha Bradberry
Violin and Viola

She is a graduate of Weber State University. She has an extensive background in preschool music. Her Suzuki training was received at the Chicago Suzuki Institute, Stevens Point, and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. She has forty years teaching experience with children. She has developed string orchestra programs in two parochial schools. She is a member of SAA and ASTA. *

Caroline Brill
Cello

She received Suzuki Cello training from Sally Gross. She is experienced with teaching both theory and reading classes at Suzuki. She received her B.S. and M.S. Special Education from Indiana University. She has 17 years experience in special education. Currently, she is the preschool coordinator for Joint Services for Special Education through School City of Mishawaka and Penn Harris Madison School Corporation.

Lois Burns
Piano

She began Suzuki piano studies at age 4. She has recieved training in Suzuki Early Childhood Education with Sally Gross and Suzuki Piano Training with Marilyn Andersen at Blue Lake Fine Arts Family Camp. She is currently working on a Music Major with a concentration in piano at Indiana University, South Bend. Member, SAA. *

Joyce Davis
Music Director
Violin/Viola Coordinator

She received her B.S. from Purdue University. She has been the Suzuki Music School Director for sixteen years. Her extensive Suzuki training includes training with Dr. Suzuki, Kay Sloan, Marjorie Aber, Evelyn Hermann and Geri Arnold. She has over 25 years teaching experience with children of all ages. She is a former member of the South Bend Symphony and Midwest Pops. She is the second violin of the Gaska String Quartet. She has served as a workshop clinician for violin and chamber music. She is a member of SAA, and AF of M. *

Lydia Franks
Cello

M.M., Eastman School of Music; B.M. and B.A., Rice University. Suzuki training with Sally Gross and Rick Mooney. Former teacher at the Kanack Suzuki Music School and Eastman Community Education Division in Rochester, NY and at the Pialish School in Los Angeles. Performance interests in historical performance practice and contemporary music. Member of SAA and ASTA.*


Carol Hoffman
Piano and Violin
Piano Accompanist

She has a B.M. from DePaul University. Her Suzuki training was at Stevens Point and Blue Lake Fine Art Camp. She was a progam assistant for a Chicago Suzuki program. She has over 40 years teaching experience with children. She is retired from the Gaska String Quartet, South Bend Symphony and the Southwest Michigan Symphony. She is a member of SAA and AF of M. *


Rosie McCormick
Piano Co-Coordinator

She attended Winthrop College. Her Suzuki training was with Ray Landers and Nehama Patkin. She received Kodaly, Orff and Dalcroze training at Andrews University and Stevens Point. She has over 20 years teaching experience, including special education. She is the former music director at Montessori Academy, St. Joseph Grade School and IUSB Music Academy. Member, SAA. *

Terry Powells
Piano

Tamara Stojanovic
Violin

M.M. with Chamber Music emphasis, San Francisco State University. B.A.,University of Florence, Italy. Diplomas in Violin Performance, State Conservatory of Music, Florence, Italy, and School of Music, Kragujevac, Serbia. Suzuki violin teacher since 2000. Training with Donna Lim, Liz Arbus, Susan Kempter, Ed Sprunger, Joanne Melvin, Kimberly Meier Sims and Alice Joy Lewis. Active chamber musician and Violin Instructor at Notre Dame since 2006. Joined South Bend Symphony in 2007. Member of SAA.*


Dolores Wilson
Viola and Violin

She has a B.M.E. and M. M. from Indiana University. She has extensive Suzuki training with instructors such as Alice Joy Lewis, Marjorie Aber and Shigetoshi Yamada. She has 40 years of teaching experience. She is a faculty instructor for chamber music at Blue Lake Fine Art Camp. She is a 50 year member of the South Bend Symphony. She is the first violin of the Gaska String Quartet. She is a member of SAA, ASTA, and AF of M. *
